And We’re Back Online

Our power was finally restored this afternoon after losing it on Monday night.  I’m incredibly relieved, if not a little exhausted from all of it.  I’m thrilled to be back online again, but still very much aware of how hard people were hit by this storm.  I wanted to take a minute and say that my heart goes out (though that expression always seems like it’s not quite enough) to all who have to rebuild and repair, and those who are still waiting for relief.

One gesture that I thought was really lovely was a Tumblr started by a journalist named Andy Kopsa.  She lived in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and calls New York home.  On the blog, she posts photos and messages of support from New Orleanians to New Yorkers dealing with Sandy’s aftermath.  It’s definitely worth taking a look.
